My Career Dock ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. It applies to all users of the Platform. By using the Platform you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). Profile information: details you provide such as role title, location, phone, LinkedIn, website, resume data, work experience, education, skills, job applications, and other career information. Usage information: pages you visit, features you use, content you submit for AI processing, and interaction data.Device and technical information: browser type, device type, IP address, and similar technical data. Payment information: we do not store your card or bank details; payments are processed by third-party payment providers who handle and store such data under their own policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and operate the Platform and its features (including AI-powered tools); process payments and manage subscriptions; administer referral programs; provide customer support; communicate with you about your account; improve, personalize, and secure the Platform; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations. We may send you promotional communications only if you have opted in, and you may opt out at any time.

4. Lawful Basis

We process your information on the basis of your consent, performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as improving and securing the Platform), and compliance with legal obligations. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and, where applicable, provide the protections required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to users in the European Economic Area.

5. Third-Party Services

We share information with trusted third parties who help us operate the Platform, including: hosting and database services (Supabase); authentication providers (Google OAuth); our AI provider, which processes content you submit for AI features in order to generate output; payment gateways (Instamojo); expert scheduling services (Calendly or similar) where you book consultant sessions; and analytics services where used. These parties process data on our behalf or under their own policies. We do not sell your personal information.

6. AI Processing Notice

Content you submit to AI-powered features (such as resumes, job descriptions, interview responses, and cover letters) is transmitted to our AI service provider to generate results. Do not submit sensitive personal information to AI features unless necessary. Your submissions are processed in accordance with our provider's policies and our terms.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use local storage and cookies for essential functions such as maintaining your session, remembering your preferences, and tracking onboarding state. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not function properly.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Platform and comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites (including job listings and expert scheduling pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them your information.
